Paul Bradley - Màs Memorias Extranjeras
Remix companion release to Memorias Extranjeras on Alluvial Recordings offering a very different rendering of the original.
On returning to Memorias Extranjeras (and to the Spanish City of Valencia) the foggy, dark somberness that punctuated the first CD had gone. A fundamental change had occurred in the twelve months between ‘Memorias Extranjeras’ and ‘Màs Memorias Extranjeras’ and there was a desire to reflect this and re-work the piece to match this clearer change in perspective. The two releases are two sides of the same coin, one darker, more detached and the other, calmer and more open. Memories that had changed and warped, softened and melded together, the same experience revisited through different eyes.

Paul Bradley - Chroma
Split over seven tracks 'chroma' is a beautiful swarming forty five-minute suite of pieces. A warm, almost angelic hue of sound radiates from 'chroma' giving it a pure, optimistic feeling that only fades with the last dying notes. Weightless and saturated in it's waves of sound, all you have to do is listen.

STANDARD EDITION
Following on from ‘Memorias Extranjeras’ (Alluvial Recordings) with ‘Sketches from Dust’, we again have a less ‘typical’ Paul Bradley release. For this CD, gone are the field recordings and over the forty minutes we hear a piece that is mainly constructed from Guitar and Piano (the latter being played by Maja Elliott of Current 93). The recording is augmented by various acoustic sounds and some precise mixing techniques to form an organic and possibly ‘looser’ feeling recording than we might be previously expecting. What we hear is an intimate yet murky, almost eroded sonic journey.

Paul Bradley - Liquid Sunset
Colour bursts on the horizon. The haze of light creates a dreamy, almost unreal atmosphere. Everything slows to a stupor as the sun finally drops from view, ever static yet ever evolving, to be reborn again in a few short hours.
CD encased in some delicious artwork.
Paul Bradley - Twenty Hertz
Reissue of debut cdr release on ICR.
Cavernous rumbles and speaker-shaking bass tones characterize this debut release from the very talented Paul Bradley. Beautiful slow-moving tracks, evoking the elements of the underworld. Although the low-end dominates, there is delicacy and subtlety to be found here. I am reminded alternately of ships lost at sea, subterranean caverns filled with mysterious activity, menacing night-time forests, and the powerful majesty of summer storms. A striking first release. Anomalous Records description.

Monos - Above the skyFinally the ‘new’ album from Monos sees the light of day. Spanning a period of almost 4 years & involving their one and only public performance, the trio of Darren Tate,Colin Potter & Paul Bradley finally agree that everything is where it should be & the CD is released. Two long contrasting tracks the familiar and unfamiliar, the context changed, the final result very different, yet at the same time completely natural and cohesive.

Paul Bradley & Colin Potter - The simple plan
Recorded and completed at the end of 2008 and on into the first months of 2009, ´The Simple Plan´ offers a change in focus from previous collaborations between these two artists. Comprising five tracks, ´The Simple Plan´ is purely instrumental, recorded in real-time and subjected to only minimal digital processing. Before recording began, the decision was made to create a simpler, more organic piece of work, using computers only sparingly to record the tracks and help with arrangements. There was to be no extended manipulation of sounds, so what you hear, is basically what was played together with no overdubbing and captured live in the studio as both artists alternated between playing vintage synthesizers (the active use of synthesizers being a first for Paul Bradley) and guitars whilst being aided by a selection of new and classic effects pedals. Although not completely analogue in realisation, it was analogue in its intent. All at once harmonious and dissonant, melodic and atonal, calming and animated, these juxtapositions marked the beginning of significant new chapters in the personal lives of both artists and this influenced the work to an almost undeniable degree and is something that subsequently underpins the fundamental nature and feel of ´The Simple Plan´. There is somehow an abstract sense of desire and resolve that although never initially intended as a concept, naturally informed the final recordings.
